Date: 1/11/2005Trail Description: Rock Quarry TrailAuthor: J. JenningsFrom Kanuga or US64/Little River Road, follow directions to the Corn Mill Shoals Access Area, BUT find the Rock Quarry Road on right about 0.2 mile after turning left onto Cascade Lake Road (about 1/3 mile BEFORE the Access Area). From Cedar Mountain follow directions to the Corn Mill Shoals Access Area, but continue past the access area about 1/3 mile to find Rock Quarry Road on the left. Walk around the cable and about a quarter mile up the dirt roadway to a quarry (passing Micajah Trail on the left). At the quarry, keep to the left and continue on the primary roadway (Buck Ridge Road and Buckhorn Creek Road intersect on the left). Climb gradually for another 3/4 mile until you'll reach a wildlife clearing with a view on the right where you can see up the valley to Asheville and Grandfather Mountain on a clear day. This clearing is near the State Forest boundary. Return. This site produced by Friends of DuPont Forest.
